In this post, I am going to lay out everything you need to know about why some blog posts rank better than others.
These 7 tactics will make or break your blog!
Without further ado, let’s grow your blog.
Backlinks, backlinks, backlinks…
You’ve heard it before (I hope), but I am here to tell you how to get them.
Don’t be the guy who sends out hundreds of the same email begging people to share your post on their blog.
You’re wasting your time and their time.
Use targetted and personal outreach to accomplish your goal here.
A personalized email is much more likely to give you a response and that backlink you want.
Stop sending these pointless emails.
To whom it may concern,
I love using your [business]! It has truly impacted my life.
I was hoping you might be able to include my post [LINK] on one of your posts. This would help me out a lot, as I am a new blogger without an audience yet.
Let me know what you think! I have many other posts you could use if that one does not work.
Sincerely,
[Name]
Ok, you can stop snoring now.
You will never get a positive response (if any response) and this will hurt your reputation.
To make sure your outreach efforts are effective...

This template is how you should send an email for backlink building...
Check this out,
This method is effective because you do not give the editor a job.
When you tell the editor that you will write them a post about anything they want...
The editor now has to come up with a post topic for you to write. They have enough on their plate, don’t give them yet another job.
So to recap, make it reeeaaally easy for the editor to publish your content.
Action step: Compile a list of blogs in your topic, then send the editor a personalized email
You did the first strategy…
And the editor wants to publish a post of yours!
There is only one problem left...
How do you get the reader back to your blog?
Add a feature that makes the reader want to come back to your site.
Include all of the points to your listicle except for a few bonus ones.
Then write something along the lines of, “ready to take action? Here are a few extra actionable tactics to get you started!” with a link to those extras back on your blog.
Action Step: Give a reason for the readers to come to your site
Yep, every single comment that anyone posts on any of your blog posts…
How do you get comments?
ONLY publish amazing content, that’s worth commenting on.
Now, this is going to create questions and feedback from your audience. Some of these questions will require in-depth answers.
But here’s the thing, other replies to comments will just be a simple “Thank you”
Even the comments from your old Scout Master (who is an amazing guy btw).
Ok, sure you can delete the negative ones from the haters.
Not only does answering the thoughtful comments help your blog gather attention. But it also gives you insight into what your audience wants to know.
These insights will give you ideas on what your next topics could be about.
All in all, replying to comments builds a community that is active and they become more likely to engage with other pieces of your content.
Action Step: Reply to every single comment on all of your content
But don’t just limit your comments to your blog, comment on other blogs!
You should even…
Are you starting out from nothing?
We have all been there, it’s rough!
Create a list of inspirational bloggers who you look up to in your industry. Be a frequent commenter on their blog posts, Facebook groups, Twitter circles, and any other platform that you can engage with them on.
This is a form of networking. Keep interacting with them, you’ll start a relationship!
The point is that this relationship could lead to other great things like backlinks, leads, guest posts, and social shares.
Ya know, the good stuff.
Go above and beyond with in-depth comments that open up the minds of others.
Action Step: Leave comments on other blogs that will help people in your topic
Get this, other bloggers in related niches can help you!
Not only is it nice to have someone else to talk to about the nitty-gritty of your blog. This is a great learning opportunity, for both of you.
You can both swap ideas and tactics.
Maybe even a little bit of co-opertition that pushes both of you towards greatness.
Plus, being an entrepreneur can be lonely sometimes, so finding a buddy to share experiences with will propel you and entertain you.
So here’s the thing, to start a friendship like this use the strategy covered in the first section “Link Building with Super Personal Outreach”. Or constantly engage with them on any platform they are active on.
The point, to schedule a video chat with them!
After you have refined a relationship, guest blogging and backlinks are an easy request.
Action Step: Reach out to that blogger who you are always reading
Custom Visuals make your content much more unique.
Always make sure to include 2-3 visuals in your post (if not more!).
In this post, I created an infographic so my readers could easily skim what my post is about.
This way before the reader gets far into the content, they can know if this is the post topic they are looking for.
The two best tools to create visuals without any designing software experience are google drawings and Canva.
Google drawing is free, all you need is a Gmail account.
Canva is also free, but paid options for more helpful features.
Action Step: Use google drawings and Canva next time you are publishing content.
Capturing the attention of your audience at just the right time is crucial.
The audience of each blog has a different time they like to view the content.
That said, experiment with publishing on different days at different times.
After analyzing 912 million blog posts, Buzzsumo and Backlinko found out that there is no “best day” to publish a new piece of content. However, with a case study this large they were not able to focus on one specific industry or topic.
To find out if there is an advantage to posting your content on specific days, research what others have done in your industry. Next, see if their tactics work for you.
But the absolute best way to find out when your posts should be published?
Test and analyze what times and days of the week work best for your blog.
Action Step: Research what times are the best to post in your niche and experiment with them.
Here’s the deal, do these steps, and you will earn yourself results.
Action Step: Compile a list of blogs in your topic, then send the editor a personalized email
