I'm a digital nomad and event host. I spent 1,364 consecutive days traveling, mostly out of my van, and these days I'm based in Salt Lake City building businesses and chasing snow. Here's what has my attention right now.

Building businesses, one experiment at a time

After hosting events for 26 months and losing $22k on that company, my friend Cole and I started a Christmas light installation business. It generated $52.5k in revenue its first year, and we plan to keep doing it for years to come. Right now I'm figuring out the next business to start, because that's the part I love most: turning a crazy idea into something real.

Six years of van life

I've been living in my van for close to six years, and I've watched the lifestyle go from a fringe movement to a full-blown social media phenomenon. I like writing about the real version, not the Instagram-perfect one: the breathtaking mountain mornings alongside everything the filtered squares conveniently leave out.

Skiing forever, with the occasional marathon

My life vision is simple: spend as little time as possible on things I hate, and as much as possible skiing. I've taken enough hits to know it isn't free (smashed teeth, plus a plate and 7 screws in my collarbone), so I keep coming back to the habits that let me ski for a long, long time. When the season ends, Cole usually talks me into something ridiculous, like trail running a marathon on four days of training.

Want to follow along? I share the experiments and the misadventures on Instagram and LinkedIn.
