Working vs. Friends?

I have stumbled upon the world’s most effective productivity hack.

Here’s the thing, it has nothing to do with you, and everything to do with your friends.

Alright, you’re probably sitting there thinking what the hell do productivity and hanging out with friends have in common?!?

A lot……………...

Allow me to explain.

As someone who works online and travels out of a van, social interactions are crucial.

They refresh your mind and allow you to recharge your creative energy. (assuming you’re an extrovert like me)

Not to mention, you get to bounce ideas off of your friends and will have even more ideas when it’s time to work again.

Just last week I spent 3 days straight just working by myself in my van. Sure I got a ton done, but I was in desperate need of social time.

The good news is that all I usually need is a few hours of talking with a good friend.

Hell, even making new friends and getting to know them recharges me.

Now I don’t have the data to back it up, but I feel as if having a great social life on top of the proper amount of discipline to actually get your work done is the recipe for success.

Another great thing about good friends is that we all become the average of the top 5 people we spend the most time with.

So if you want to change your habits, look for a group of people who already have that habit developed. This way it is the normal thing to do -- making it easy to form that habit yourself.

I find the best way to make new friends while on the road is to hang out with friends of friends. This is great because if you already like your friend, there is a high chance that you will like all of their friends.

Not only that, but these new friends already have a reason to like you.

All in all, I value my friend groups very much and gain a ton from them. The best way to gain from them is to give them what you are looking for.

In other words, If you want more encouragement and positivity in your life, give it to your friends.
